Occupation-related Asthma and Allergies

Brian was a full-time pastry chef in a few large hotels for 11 years.

Over this period, he first developed allergies (e.g., recurrent wheezing, cough, stuffy or runny nose, colds, or sinusitis), and then asthma. Flour particles floating in the airconditioned kitchens in which he used to work contributed to those conditions.

Upon his doctor's suggestion, he changed his occupation to administration-cum-driving in a welfare organisation. Not only has his asthmatic blues stopped completely, now he no longer suffers from those allergies he had before. He has been working in his present position for six years already.

If you are in a similar situation, a job switch might be needful.

Cancer Drug Can Cause Heart Failure

One study recently published in the journal Nature Medicine came up with the suggestion that an effective cancer drug, Gleevec can cause severe heart damage.

This is not surprising. You try to kill one culprit in the body only to cause another perhaps even more evil culprit.

Is it really worth risking it?

Although the above is a small study, it is noteworthy and serves as a warning.

Heading for Major Illness

I am not trying to frighten you.

But you are very likely heading for one or more of the serious sicknesses that afflict mankind. Not, unless you start doing something about your own health from today.

Few people, if any, die without ailments or suffering. But you can help yourself to a great extent in actively and deliberately avoiding them.

Are you going to do something about it now?
