Medical scandals

Recently, you heard about one medical scandal after another.

The Korean scandal from Korea's top university, Seoul National University, shocked the whole world recently with fabricated results that were published by a famous journal.

Next, you heard the news of an Italian scandal. Of late, the Japanese scandal, the case of which will come to light in a short while.

Researchers must be under tremendous pressure from all quarters to perform. Whatever their motives for coming up with creative (in the bad sense) scientific papers for submission, the end result can be frightening.

Are we putting too much pressures and setting priorities on the wrong things? I think so.

Scandals sound daunting. But when is it going to end? May I suggest that it most probably will not as long as people are in it.

Fat Health Gurus

There are gurus around who have said many different things about various issues on health at different times.

There are those who are fat that say that it's okay to be fat as long as you are fit. It doesn't really matter if you're overweight, they claim.

What is the truth of the matter? Study after research study has shown that obesity is the mother of diseases and ailments. It is not good to be overweight! Let's face it: millions of souls perish every year because of over-weightiness or obesity.

Let's practise what we preach. For those who are overweight, including writers and teachers, the problem has been, and always will be: How can we be normal-weighted again? That is the big question mark that must be resolved first and foremost. There are safe ways to fight obesity and to maintain trimness.

Trouble is, most weight-loss practitioners claim that their way is the best and safest. Who do you believe? I believe that I have the answer, and it doesn't take much faith to believe it.
